“Synergism, in general, may be defined as two or more agents working together to produce a result not obtainable by any of the agents independently. The word synergy comes from two Greek words: erg meaning “to work”, and syn meaning “together”; hence, synergism is a “working together.”

The circle, the whole, the unified flow, is greater than its parts. For us, this story is about more than crafting camaraderie, it’s about the future of cutting-edge, sustainable, and community-oriented commerce. Anodea Judith says;

 “Relationship is the crucible through which evolution occurs.”

We’d argue that the fire of the circle, the fire of transformation, is the physical manifestation of that crucible. We are in fluid partnership on this planet - with each other, with the natural world and with our hoops in dance. These relationship opportunities, when approached with sensitivity of spirit, move us forward along the evolutionary trajectory faster than each individual could do on our own.

Together we created Synergy. As the 2 spirals flowed into one, each revolution one octave higher than the last, we articulated to each other how to be our best selves in business.

how we came together... 

The merging of Cosmic Fire and Hoopdrum came out of a recognition and a respect for shared vision. Shakti Sunfire and Rainbow Michael of Cosmic Fire began their firehoop journey in 2007, bringing the first incarnation of our current lightweight firehoop to the Hoop Convergence that same year. Julia and Scott of hoopdrum and founders of the Hoop Convergence, had been crafting firehoops of different designs and varieties together since 2005.

Over the following years we dedicated ourselves to creating what are now some of the world’s lightest, toughest and safest firehoops available. Two separate entities, both pushing the edge, offered a reflection of ‘what’s next’ to each other in the industry through many trials and tribulations…out of which we grow.

This journey has taken us through tubing experiments, various wick sizes, sanded texture for added grip & decreased weight, and a variety of hardware for sleeker, more durable wick/spine attachments. In 2009 Hoopdrum crafted the first polypro firehoop, reaching unprecedented levels of performance design. That same year Cosmic Fire innovated again with the first use of the sleeker, stiffer cable spine material…and the innovations have no end.
 
As movement style and regular hoop tubing evolves over the years, so will our firehoop designs. Unlike other firehoop manufacturers, we are hoopers and crafters, both. From day one we’ve recognized the need to craft firehoops that weigh and feel as close as possible to our regular hoops.
